Our team of highly skilled and experienced clinical health planners and technical architects bring individual expertise and focus to each project, to optimally meet our clients needs and aspirations. Each member of the team is carefully selected for their unique skills, potential, and ability to contribute to the health environments they design. We strive to keep up to date with current trends and advancements and continually develop our skills and knowledge base.
Chris Doufas

Chris Doufas
Managing Director
Chris assumes primary executive leadership of the HSPC team. His experience includes conceptual planning, master planning, feasibility studies, design development, building survey and assessments and overall client/user group liaison. Chris understands the fundamentals of health projects including the requirement to maintain full clinical services during any redevelopment project and the business imperative of the health care sector. He has developed strong client relationships to ensure health planning is efficient, effective and value for money. Chris is an expert in aligning the requirements of equity capital funds, health care providers and constructions companies, particularly in the design and construct procurement approach.
Stephen Sinclair

Stephen Sinclair
Principal
Stephen's experience lies across a variety of health care projects including acute, rehabilitation and mental health facilities. His role in the HSPC team includes client/user group liaison, high level master planning and detailed health planning for a wide variety of facilities, following the projects through to design development and delivery.
Matthew Szymula

Matthew Szymula
Principal
In his role as a Principal, Matthew's strength lies not only in the coordination of the internal office team, but also the various consultant disciplines when managing the design and documentation through the BIM models. Matthew has a proven experience with architectural documentation through the various stages of project delivery, with particular attention to detail and time management. His architectural skills range from health planning, notably in translating client/user group requirements, to design and documentation.
Peter Timmins

Peter Timmins
Director
Peter has over 35 years’ of professional experience, with a particular focus upon health care and scientific projects. During that time he has been involved in a wide variety of developments, encompassing every field of medical architecture. He has proven skills in all aspects of project delivery, from master planning through detailed planning, documentation and project implementation. He manages our detailed technical standards, documentation protocols and contract preparation in the practice.
Patrick Dewhirst

With over 30 years' experience in health and aged care architecture, Patrick often stated that he is in the best job in the world, with the core requirement being to help people. He is passionate about delivering facilities that are practical, accessible and promote well-being for all occupants and users. Patrick’s experience encompasses all aspects of project delivery, from master planning through to detailed documentation and contract administration. Patrick’s wealth of experience enables him to be a mentor to help guide projects from technical detailing to contract management.
Martin Hall

Martin Hall
Director
Martin Hall holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons), Bristol University, England, Master of Arts in Architecture, Royal College of Art, London, England and is a Member of the Royal Society of Designers. Martin is a Technical / Project Director, responsible for the documentation and delivery of a wide range and scale of work from the master planning of international educational campuses to multi-storey commercial towers and luxury residential projects with an emphasis on the Middle East. Over the last few years he has, together with our expat staff stationed in Qatar, been responsible for the design of a number of innovative, cutting edge projects in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Qatar.

Askolds has been involved in a large and very diverse range of projects from hospitality through to gaming and currently medical facilities. A background in Fine Arts (Painting) prior to Architectural studies lead to an interest in Interior Architecture and Design and he has been involved in this area of the architectural process for some time. Over the last 17 years, Askolds role has involved health planning and preparation of interior / design concepts and documents for a diverse range of health projects.

Fotine provides leadership and strategic advice across our architecture and interior design teams. Through her extensive experience, she has gained a reputation for the excellence of her healthcare design, particularly her interior treatments. Whilst Fotine was with the Victorian Department of Health, she was closely involved in the delivery of high quality design outcomes on a range of projects. She believes that good design is essential for an inclusive, healthy and beautiful environment that is accessible to everyone.

Mary has over 22 years of professional experience working for a number of Australia’s leading specialist practices. Throughout her career, Mary has been involved in a wide variety of health-related projects that range in type, location and scale. Mary is extremely detail focused and possesses a strong set of skills in design, detailed documentation, client and consultant liaison and construction contract administration. She also has proven ability to work effectively with user groups and authorities.

In his role as project architect, Tristan has experience across healthcare and age care architecture, with experience across various stages, from project conception, procurement and delivery.
Tristan has a keen focus on developing 3D assets and Revit workflow strategies, to ensure the team is adhering to the most efficient and effective BIM processes.

Gabrielle Buckley

Gabrielle’s passion for healthcare architecture began during her postgraduate studies at the Mackintosh School of Architecture. In early 2023, she obtained her RIBA/ARB Part 3 Professional Practice in Architecture Certificate, making her eligible to join the UK Architects Registration Board.
At HSPC, Gabrielle has worked on several complex projects, playing a crucial role in meeting client needs and delivering on programme. Her responsibilities have also included the implementation of dRofus into the office workflow, enhancing coordination and quality assurance.

As well as having a bachelor of Architecture, Elio Mirabelli is our IT Manager responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our office IT systems and servers. Elio also ensures that we remain abreast of the latest trends and advancements in software and technology and its application and introduction into our management systems.

Josephine's deep appreciation for design, drives her to continuously improve and contribute her skills.
Elizabeth Kules

Administration Manager
Elizabeth Kules is the Administration Manager at Peddle Thorp / HSPC working together with Elio Mirabelli and our Administration Team to ensure the successful day to day running of the company. Elizabeth, together with the Directors and Marketing Team, is responsible for the preparation and production of presentation and submission work and the marketing of the firm. She is also Chief Fire Warden for the building - so if you see her running... just try and keep up.
Sarah Crozier

As a registered Architect, Sarah has over 20 years of local and international industry experience of which extends across all phases of Architecture including planning, design, documentation and contract administration. Sarah’s diverse portfolio spans across residential, commercial, education and transport typologies, and of more recent in complex, largescale healthcare facilities.
Some of the projects worked on include Melbourne airport upgrades, Casey Green Residential Development, Oasis Hospital Al Ain, the Royal Childrens Hospital, and currently is working on Mulgrave Private hospital expansion, an X Million multi-staged brownfield development.
Sarah takes a holistic approach to the architectural process starting with a pencil and progressing to BIM to explore the design and functional opportunities that unlock the potential of each project.
As part of the quality assurance team, Sarah also works to ensure rigorous office wide quality systems are developed and implemented and also maintains a keen interest in architectural education having taught at multiple institutions including Melbourne University, RMIT, Princeton University and Wellington University as a way to give back to the community and to explore ideas in architecture and city design.

Lou joined HSPC in 2007 as a CAD / REVIT Technician. With over 20 years of experience Lou has worked on a large number of technically challenging projects. Lou is a highly committed and motivated professional who delivers accuracy and efficiency. Lou holds an Associate Diploma in Architectural Drafting and an Advanced Diploma in Building Design both from NMIT.

Ana is an integral part of the documentation and delivery team, contributing her expertise to a diverse range of architectural projects. She is a registered architect in Brazil and has further enriched her knowledge by completing a master's degree in interior design in Barcelona, Spain.

Jit (Jitendra) is a qualified CPA (Australia) and a Chartered Accountant (India). As the Chief Financial Officer, Jit is responsible for overseeing the Group's Finance and Accounts department, including coordination and administration. Jit Works closely with directors, other executives and stakeholders in co-ordinating informed financial decisions. Additionally, along with working directly with staff, Jit manages department resources and processes, contributing to project delivery.

Starting at HSPC Health Architects in 2021, George brings a wealth of knowledge in feasibility, concept and town planning stages of projects. He works across the HSPC and Peddle Thorp design teams to create architecture which envisions a connection to its place and produce meaning through these designs. Having worked for 3 years as an Urban Designer and having degrees in Architecture, Urban Design and Urban Planning his knowledge is invaluable within the design team. He was also received a Commendation in the 2022 Graduate Prize (Victorian Chapter) by the Australian Institute of Architects.
