Expanding mental health services to meeting surging demand.
HSPC has been privileged to work on the masterplan for Belmont Private Hospital for over 15 years, contributing to the strategic expansion of mental health services and bed capacity in response to the growing demand in Brisbane and its surrounding areas. This ongoing collaboration has culminated in a transformative expansion, designed to significantly enhance the hospital’s capabilities and patient care offerings.

This latest phase elevates Belmont Private Hospital’s total bed count to 185, cementing its status as one of the largest private mental health facilities in Australia and the largest in Queensland. The redevelopment features two critical new additions: a dedicated 24-bed Perinatal and Women’s Unit to address the increasing need for specialist care in perinatal mood disorders and women’s mental health, and an innovative 10-bed Young Adult and Adolescent Unit, which will provide essential mental health services to a growing and underserved demographic.
The expansion also includes a specialized Trauma and Dissociation Unit and adds 12 beds to the Older Adult Mental Health Unit, further enhancing the hospital’s ability to provide comprehensive mental health services. Additionally, the development introduces 14 new specialist consulting suites and 10 group therapy rooms, which are essential for facilitating a wider range of therapeutic services.
