Cobblebank Masterplan

Engaged by Australian Unity as the lead design consultant for the Cobblebank masterplan, the visionary project is set across a 6-hectare site in Melbourne's rapidly growing Cobblebank region. Strategically located between key landmarks - Melton Hospital to the south, Cobblebank train station to the north, and retail and sports facilities to the west - the precinct is poised to become a pivotal hub in the future of Cobblebank.

The masterplan envisions a dynamic mixed-use precinct featuring a major private hospital, medical consulting spaces, aged care facilities, tertiary education institutions, as well as retail and hospitality offerings. At the heart of the development is a 2,500sqm green plaza, designed to foster community engagement and encourage active use of the public realm. The urban planning emphasizes seamless integration between community infrastructure through thoughtfully designed connections.

In collaboration with Peddle Thorp Architects, the masterplan outlines a new road network and infrastructure that align with the council’s Urban Design Framework. With a focus on pedestrian and cyclist-friendly access, intuitive vehicle linkages, expansive green spaces, and community amenities, the Cobblebank masterplan aims to set the benchmark for healthy, sustainable urban living.
