East Grampians Health Service

Ararat, VIC

The EGHS (Ararat Hospital) redevelopment is situated within a Victorian State-registered precinct, adjacent to six heritage-listed buildings, with Pyrenees House, the original hospital, being the most significant. While no work was conducted within the heritage buildings themselves, their proximity required close collaboration with the consultant team and heritage architect to ensure the redevelopment complemented the site’s historical significance.

The redevelopment was carefully staged to maintain the continuity of clinical services while addressing construction challenges. As a brownfield development, the project presented a range of unique conditions typically found in an historic site.

The project’s staged approach allowed for flexibility and adaptability, ensuring the timely resolution of any challenges while maintaining momentum. The redevelopment continues to progress smoothly, with the team committed to delivering a high-quality, functional healthcare facility for the community.
