HSPC led the design of the new greenfield development for Epping Private Hospital, located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, adjacent to the existing hospital. The project adopts a strategic three-stage design approach that prioritises flexibility and phasing to meet future healthcare demands.
The hospital features a flexible floor plate, allowing shell spaces to be built and later fitted out as needed to accommodate evolving service modalities, based on the hospital's requirements. This adaptive design ensures the hospital can organically grow and evolve to suit its urban environment while maintaining optimal functionality.
In Stage 1, the layout has been carefully planned to ensure that all essential and critical services flow seamlessly into Stage 2, avoiding redundancy and ensuring full operational continuity throughout construction. This approach guarantees that critical services remain fully functional during the hospital's expansion, providing a robust and future-proof health care facility.
