HSPC was commissioned to create an expansion to the existing mental health facility, by adding 6o inpatient beds, supporting lounge/dining spaces and outpatient day programme with a specialist outdoor gym area.
Building on the contextual references to the residential dwellings in the surrounding area, introducing elements of brick and render to the facade elevates the design outcome. The chosen colour palette has been selected to complement the existing mental health facility, providing a solidified identity to the overall site. The design highlights prominent views and creates a reference to a domestic scale rather than a hospital.
